MTC Engineering uses an open access package, Joomla!, to create our website. Currently, we are unable to access functions in the "backend" of the system. These are functions such as working with user names, approving pictures, etc. We can access articles, such as the one you are reading, through the front end. We have talked to several technicians and there does not seem to be any type of quick fix available.
The Joomla! software has a new version, which has been available for just over a year. The file structure is not compatible with the current version and is taking, basically, a total rewrite. We have been working on these for several months and are pushing up the development time to fix the current problem we are having. If you would like to preview the new site you can get there by clicking here. If you have any comments or suggestions on the new site,

Flamingo / PTA Noord Toyota
Anassis Racing - SOUTH
AFRICA
P/ST Race Report: Round three of the 2009 Biker lifestyle SA National Drag Race series
took place at the Tarlton International Raceway outside Johannesburg. Team Flamingo
/ PTA Noord Toyota drag racer Brad Anassis came out of the event with a win and
a 40 point lead moving halfway into the season. With only 3 rounds remaining
Anassis would have to be kicked out in the early rounds to lose a grip on yet
another PST title.
With the best run of the day only 1000th of the
SA record Anassis was the only rider to run in the 7's on the day. A cold
winter race event proved somewhat difficult for the other riders the read the
surface, then light rain showers struck and made conditions even more
complicated, this held the track temp way down and the bikes just kept spinning
up randomly.
At the previous event and with Anassis losing in the final to
Graham Mini who had just purchased a third new Velocity Busa which made Anassis
and his team focus even more and there was no doubt he was not going to live
another loss down so easily. Anassis was not going to let any secrets out the
bag until after the event but they had acquired a new MTC Gen 2 clutch system.
With the help of Eric @ MTC and using ‘out the box settings' the bike ran the
numbers straight away. The event's bad conditions seemed to suit the new MTC
and made the bike easy to ride. The Anassis Busa ran away with the event
leaving the opposition with some serious thinking to do.
Brad said "I can't thank Eric @ MTC
enough for the new clutch system, this is definitely the right direction to
head in for any other PST teams out there, just hope we can learn more about
this new systems faster than the other guys to keep us ahead."

The Summer Nationals at Santa Pod
Raceway is the halfway point in the 2009 ACU Championship calendar and the team
came to the meeting needing to win in order to retake the points lead. With a
lot of new components on the bike, the strategy for the weekend was to lay down
a strong early run and then gradually turn things up for the eliminations.
A first qualifying pass of 7.37 at
175mph was good enough for the number one slot on Saturday morning and this
mark remained at the top of the pile at the end of the qualifying day. Dave
also stayed sharp on the lights, with a 0.009 light in the second qualifying
run.
Race day brought hot weather, but
very poor air. Round one saw Dave despatch Paul King with an improved 7.32 at
180mph. By the time the final came round, the air was even worse at 2100 feet
adjusted altitude. Nevertheless, in the race against long-time adversary Len
Paget, the Beck Racing Suzuki clocked its best ET of the weekend with a winning
7.29 at 179.8mph to take the win against Len's red light run.
"We achieved exactly what we set out
to do, gradually turning up the performance throughout the weekend," commented
Dave "with air conditions as challenging as they were, I was pleased with the
performance and I believe this setup has a lot more to deliver as the season
progresses."
The rest of the season is focused on
retaining the ACU Championship, although the possibility of racing in the Euro
Finals still remains if sponsorship can be found. "I was impressed by Ulf
Ogge's performance at the Main Event and it would be great to line up against
him and the other European contenders. I also want my track record back off Ulf,
so am looking to better our 7.16 run from 2008!"
While taking a break from US racing
this season, Dave did speculate that some US races may be on the cards for next
season.
Dave Beck would like to thank: Eric
at MTC Engineering from the Gen 2 clutch, billet block, pistons and other
parts, in addition to technical expertise; Rick Ward at Ward Performance for
his constant updating of the motor and support for the tuneup; Paul and Kevin
at Fast by Gast; and Steve at Nimbus Motorsports. Last and definitely not
least, thanks to the super team of Charlotte, Ric and Tom for preparing and
getting the bike down the track
Gen II Multistage Clutch now available for SUZ GSXR1000
MTC Engineering has released it's latest model Gen II clutch for the Suzuki GSXR1000. The new clutch has been tested by Nick Mazeika and Playthings Racing. The "Gen II Multistage Clutch" is designed and built with the same robustness as MTC has
used for over 40 years in making the best products in the racing industry.
This clutch significantly reduces clutch lever efforts and yet improves clutch adjustability through its "multistage" technology. The new design runs on engine RPM, and demonstrates a quicker reaction time and more repeatability between passes. The new design also allows for easier dynamic spring replacement with its quick access cover plate over the springs. Current available models include the Hayabusa, Buell, and GS, KZ, ZX14, and GSXR1000.
