| MTC ENGINEERING INTRODUCES CLUTCH BASKET FOR TRIUMPH ROCKET III Wednesday, August 17, 2011 After nearly two years of research and intense field testing, MTC Engineering has gone into production on the first forged aluminum clutch basket for the Triumph Rocket III. This new forged basket is much stronger than the stock cast aluminum version.
The MTC basket has steel rivet risers with over-sized, pre-hardened rivets to provide exceptional strength. Scott Szczepaniak is seen here bringing the frontend of this 800 lb. bagger a foot off the ground. The basket, in combination with MTC’s famous heavy-duty clutch fibers, provided the confidence to execute this maneuver without concern for the basket breaking. “After 22,000 miles the fibers were only worn .002” thinner than a brand new set I had just bought. I put them right back in and saved the new ones”, said Szczepaniak. “I just love the MTC Engineering forged aluminum clutch basket and fibers,” he extolled, “I’ll never use any others”. MTC Fibers have significantly larger surface area than OEM Fibers.
