Hard Chrome, also known as Industrial Chrome plating, is applied thicker than decorative chrome and is harder (65-70 Rockwell). The Hard Chrome coating is porous, providing better lubricating action which helps avoid warping due to high temperatures. The coating also offers greater wear resistance than standard steels.
